Transportation Guide to Howard Civil Service International House (Taipei)
1. From Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
Option 1: Taoyuan Metro + Taxi (The best way)
Step 1:
Take the Taoyuan Metro (Purple Line) from Airport Terminal 1(A12) or Terminal 2(A13) to Taipei Main Station(A1), around 35 minutes.
Step 2:
From Taipei main station take a taxi to the hotel (approx. fee 160-200 NT dollars).

Option 2: Taoyuan Metro +
Taipei MRT
Step 1:
Take the Taoyuan Metro (Purple Line) from Airport Terminal 1(A12) or Terminal 2(A13) to Taipei Main Station(A1), around 35 minutes.
Step 2:
Transfer to Taipei MRT at Taipei Main Station(A1/R10). Please take the Taipei MRT (Red Line) from Taipei main station(R10) to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (R08/G10).
Step 3:
Change to Green line (Songshan-Xindan line) from Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (G10) to Taipower Building (G08).
Step 4:
Take the Exit 2, turn left and walk about 800 meters (10~15 minutes) to reach the intersection of Sinhai Road and Sinsheng S. Road, then turn left to arrive at Howard Civil Service International House.
Option 3: Airport Bus + Taxi
/ Airport Bus + Taipei MRT
Step 1:
Take the Kuo-Kuang Bus (No. 1819) from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main Station.
Step 2:
From Taipei Main Station, follow the same MRT directions as above.
2. From Taipei Songshan Airport
(TSA)
Option 1: Taxi (The best way)

Option 2: Taipei MRT
Step 1:
Take the Wenhu Line (Brown Line) from Songshan Airport Station (BR13) to Nanjing-Fuxing Station (BR11/G16).
Step 2:
Change to Green line (Songshan-Xindan line) from Nanjing-Fuxing Station (G16) to Taipower Building Station (G08).
Step 3:
Take the Exit 2 , turn left and walk about 800 meters (10~15 minutes) to reach the intersection of Sinhai Road and Sinsheng S. Road, then turn left to arrive at Howard Civil Service International House.

Taiwan Railway
Constructed in the late 19th century, Taiwan's railway system has been developed so extensively over the years that many routes are in fact no longer used today. Taoyuan Airport MRT

Taxi
Taxis on the north side
of the arrival area of Terminal
1 and the south side of the
arrival area of Terminal 2 of
Taoyuan International Airport
are certified by the Airport
Police Bureau and provide
first-rate taxi services.
Taxis are available 24
hours a day. A ride to Taipei
City costs around NT$1,100.
Taipei MRT
The system operates according to a spoke-hub distribution paradigm, with six lines running radically outward from central Taipei. The metro system operates from 6 am to midnight daily. Clean and air-conditioned trains arrive every five minutes. A “Single-journey Ticket” costs between NT$20 to NT$65 depends on distance. Smoking, eating, drinking or gum chewing are strictly prohibited on all MRT trains.

Bus
Buses in Taipei are
numerous and bus routes are
well-planned. Once you get a
hang of it, buses are a great
way to get around the city.
Buses take EasyCard or cash.
Prices are calculated by
distance. Tickets come in three
price levels: One-segment,
Two-segment and Three-segment.

Tickets
Coin: One-segment ticket, regular NT$15; Two-segment ticket, regular NT$30; Three-segment, NT$45. Most passengers will only need a One-segment ticket. The bus driver will notify you if you need to pay more for a Two or Three-segment ticket.
EasyCard
Gently sweep card over the sensor area marked by the EasyCard logo (or insert tokeninto the slot) on the ticket reader. The beep you hear indicates that credit corresponding to the ticket amount has been deducted from your card.
